  Around the solstice and new year’s eve I spent a lot of time sitting with the question of what I want to create in 2014. This wasn’t a practical, strategic kind of exercise, but rather an inquiry into what sort of energies I am wanting to expand or invite into my life. Smog & Selfies

You might have seen the alarming images of Shanghai last week. Air pollution reached more than 30 times the normal level, covering the city in what looks like a dense fog. I found it sad and disturbing to learn that the noted philosopher and animal rights activist Peter Singer is all for cultured meat. (This is animal tissue produced in vitro for the purpose of human consumption.) For the record, I think cultured meat is appalling.
